Nothing much has changed since my last blog. Life is still lifeing (is that even a word?). My friend, Caroline, has had the Norovirus so I haven’t seen her for a while, poor love.
Kevin & I had a couple of days to ourselves the other weekend. We didn’t do much, which was nice, but we did go as far as Llangollen on the Sunday. We stopped off in Rhuthin for lunch, then managed to park right outside our favourite junk shop, Chapel Emporium, in Llangollen. There’s only parking for an hour, but on a cold Sunday afternoon, it was all we needed. We found a dalek in the Emporium and a Davros figure in a charity shop. Kevin took pics of them and sent them to our friend, Ian, who collects such things asking if he wanted us to get them for him. Of course, he said yes. So we bought them and then duly drove over to his place (near Porthmadog) where he was very pleased to see us. He’d just found a huge damp patch by one of the brand new windows he had installed last year and wasn’t best pleased. He won’t be able to get the same builder back to sort out the problem (long story), so will have to pay someone else to resolve it. He’d cheered up by the time we left, though.
I can’t remember if I’ve already mentioned this, but we ordered our new car at the end of January. We’re getting a Suzuki Swift in red. We have to wait a while for it as there are none in the country at the moment. I will update you when it arrives. In the meantime, Kevin’s old car, which turned 19 years old in January, went to the great scrapyard in the sky (well, the scrapyard down Maesdu Road, anyway). He got the garage across the road to help him get it started as he could get more for it if he could get it there as opposed to them coming to take it away as happened with my last car. One of the things we did do on our free Saturday was clear out the rubbish in his car. I now have his old jack, as the one that should have come with my car was missing. Boy, there was some rubbish in there!
Work is coming on apace in the the loft. There’s drilling going on as I type. We had a week’s hiatus when we had to wait for the electrician to come to do the first fix on the new lighting and sockets. Most of the insulation has gone on, and the floor is now being fitted. We had to have some remedial work with noggins going in to make the joists more even. When the floor’s been fitted the new ladder can go in above the new hatch. The new hatch means that Kevin can go in and out of the loft without having to inconvenience anyone else. When the current hatch is open, there’s no access (or at least, very limited access) to 2 of the bedrooms. Kevin is currently working from one of those bedrooms as he’s moved his office into there until the new hatch, which is in his usual office, is all done. Then we’ll have to clean everything to within an inch of it’s life before moving everything back into his office. I can see some painting that’ll need touching up too.
Anyway, this week I’ve got another haul video and a couple of new kits. I will squeeze in the haul video so the kit video will go out on my usual Wednesday time slot. Hwyl am y tro!
