No video this week

It’s been manic again so I haven’t done a video this week, and this is a day late going out. I’ve been catching up with some jobs that have been well overdue, including weeding my pots in the front garden. Why is it that any plants I put in don’t last very long, whereas weeds will grow like there’s no tomorrow? I’ve planted up about half of the spring bulbs I bought last month, but need about 2 more bags of compost to fill the rest of the pots up properly. (I was too mean before). I’ve also got back into my routine of blitzing the kitchen on the first Monday of the month. My cupboard doors are cream (supposedly) but they were looking dreadful. I can’t get down on my knees any more so I have 2 of those folding step-stools in different heights so I can sit and scrub the doors. I also give the dishwasher and the washing machine a clean. I generally use Buster Plughole Clean and Fresh Granules, as it’s designed for appliances as well as sinks. I buy it from Aldi when they have it as it’s cheaper than anywhere else. (I usually buy 4 or 5 at a time)

I have also finally got around to sorting out my spices! Months ago, Kevin made me some spice racks with his 3-D printer. I have had the jars ready for about a year. I finally got around to getting some circular labels to print on and stick on the lids. The labels aren’t quite the right size, though and I had terrible trouble getting them to line up properly. I think what I need to do is buy some printable vinyl and make them on my Cricut machine. Anyway, they’ll do for now.

These shelves are either side of the oven & hob which are in the old chimney breast. The kitchen is cream with pops of red. I was given the jars by our Pastor who’s son had used them for a photo shoot for a company producing some kind of alcohol. I still have 18 left, but only 17 lids! I might use some of them for some beeswax candles. I saw some at the Honey Fair in Conwy last month. I’d not thought about making them in jars; I still have quite a few of my teacup candles. I shouldn’t really make any more until I’ve sold some of them, as they do take up a lot of space.

I’ve moved some of my ‘craft fair stock’ into the coat cupboard, which has given me 2 gaps in my Kallax shelving in the craft room. I may be able to move some more bits to give me another one.

I put an SU order in on Tuesday and it’s already been despatched! It’ll be here next Mon/Tues. They will be busy days as we have the boiler being serviced on Monday (any time from 7am!!) and my new tumble dryer being delivered on Tuesday (also any time from 7am!). I’ve decided to go for a heat pump dryer as they are cheaper to run. I got it from Argos who were offering free delivery and free recycling of the old one. Curry’s had a slightly cheaper one but, when I added on the recycling cost it was more expensive.

I’ve been typing this over a few days and have now found the missing jar lid. It had fallen down behind a box.

Right, I need to get this on the website. Hwyl am y tro!
