WOYWW 606

I started ‘tidying up’ yesterday in my craft room, not that you’d know! And I found a card kit that I’d got with a magazine in January 2020. Decided to make up the cards using some scraps and three of my Stampin’ Up! punches. I’ll probably give them to our local hospice to sell. This is the result:

Card kit

I’m typing this in my craft room, which is underneath the bathroom that belongs to the twin guest room. I currently have a man in there taking up part of the floor. There’s historical evidence of woodworm around the base of the toilet so I’ve got someone in to check that the joists underneath are OK, and to lay ply over the floorboards so I can get some vinyl in there. There’s also some tiling to be done. I’ve just been up to check on progress and the woodworm problem isn’t as bad as either of us thought. Phew!

So, this is my last day of being 59 – tomorrow I hit the big 60! I have quite a pile of cards to open already and a couple of pressies from friends.

I think I’ll get on with ‘tidying up’ my craft room – it’s looking worse now than when I started! Hwyl am y tro!

  2. I’m sure the hospice will really appreciate the donation, the cards are lovely and will sell well, I’m sure. So glad the woodworm isn’t so bad…, potential for slapstick and awkward guest conversations have been removed then!
Many happy returns for tomorrow, it’s a big number but not indicative!

  4. Hi Camilla. Penblwydd Hapus i ti! (would add, am yfory, but can’t remember if that is right!! This is what happens when you change the number on the front) Have a great day tomorrow – celebrate wildly – within regulations – and without woodworm, workmen, accidents in bathrooms… Love the cards. Yes, the hospice will appreciate them indeed.
Take care young lady. You are a mere child… God bless you.

  5. Happy 60th! Been there, done that, it’s not too traumatic, but then I didn’t have to worry about wormwood 😀 Love the cards – I came across a kit too but it was a Christmas one. I feel like I need to put it aside for … is it Christmas in July? I think there is a challenge or SOMETHING with that title. Maybe. Ah well, I will probably forget it by then and not discover it again till next January, after Christmas, AGAIN.

Happy WOYWW, with a late start

  6. Good news on the woodworm problem – as I started reading I had visions of you chatting to the guy through the ceiling… You’ve put that card kit to good use, I’m sure they will be very grateful. Things always look worse before they get better!! Good luck with the tidying. Happy WOYWW, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindy #14 xx

  7. The cards look lovely. Happy Birthday for tomorrow. In answer to your comment on my blog I have lived in Sheffield since 1997 when I came here to start my PhD. I never left the University! We now live on the west side of Sheffield an easy walk out to the peaks and love it here. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. I hope you can enjoy your day tomorrow. 12. What a beautiful collection of cards, Camilla. I love the pastel shades. I am glad your woodworm problem wasn’t as bad as you’d feared. We found dry rot under the floor in the old cupboard in our kitchen a few years ago and I was extremely anxious about this because it looked to be a horrendously expensive job and it wasn’t covered by the insurance. The cupboard had always been a pain because I couldn’t get to the back of the shelves without taking everything out, and I didn’t know how to change it. The whole thing had to come out, but the damp expert said the rot had not spread – phew! We didn’t have to have the whole double oven unit taken out, or the wood block floor in the sitting room – both of which had given me nightmares just thinking about it! I ended up with a fabulous little walk in pantry in place of the old cupboard and it’s transformed my cooking activities. There’s usually a silver lining somewhere, isn’t there!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  13. Ooooh, happy belated birthday Camilla!!! I’m glad the woodworm-problem wasn’t as bad – I had worms in an old cabinet once and it was quite a thing to get them out! Sorry for being late (the deskers-list is long and I visit a few per day) Have a great weekend, stay healthy and safe! Love from the Netherlands, Marit #31

  14. When we moved in here over thirty five years ago there was woodwarn in the attic, it got sprayed and has given us no trouble, although my mum’s old gatefold table suddenly had it! fraid to say that went to the tip! Hope you had a great birthday! I’ve been going backwards for some years now….soooo, that makes me 22 (again) in March! The cards are lovely and will sell well! Happy WOYWW!? Stay Safe Keep Crafting!
