S’mae, pawb! It’s been an odd sort of fortnight. I went to a funeral, which was lovely. Lots of laughter (and tears); she was a well beloved lady. I had a filling at the dentist – I had to have 2 lots of anaesthetic so I felt weird all day. I jerked whilst the dentist was removing the old filling and she caught my tongue with the drill. Ouch!
I replaced the curtains in the blue room (Ystafell Las). The old ones were showing signs of age. They were blackout curtains, but the lining was wearing thin in places so they weren’t doing a very good job. They only cost £32 in the Dunelm sale several years ago, but they had run their course. The new pair were also in the Dunelm sale, but cost £69.30. Blackout curtains again, but Ultra blackout curtains. They have a bit on one side to attach to the bracket holding the pole, and a flap covering the eyelets so they really keep the light out. If you’re interested they are: Montreal Ultra Blackout Eylet Curtains in Ashley Blue. I was looking around for another pair of curtains for the green room (Ystafell Wyrdd), although they don’t really need changing. But I was very disappointed because about 98% of all the blackout curtains had eyelets. The green room has a bay window so I need a pinch pleat header. I also need something slightly wider than 90″, so I’ll definitely be looking at around £150+ when I do need to change them. We live in a 1925 house and most of the windows need at least a 90″ drop too.
Kevin and I went to Ynys Môn (Anglesey) last week. We finally went to Plas Newydd. The house is gorgeous, and the gardens are enormous. We also visited (briefly) the Halen Môn sea salt factory. I bought a small selection of flavoured salts. Right next door to them is the Sw Môr (Sea Zoo), which we will go to properly on another day. We had a lovely wander around Porthaethwy. We normally just drive through here on our way to Bewmaris, Benllech, and Amlwch.
This week’s video is just showing you my recent SU purchases and a handful of cards made with some of those goodies. Hwyl am y tro!
