WOYWW #617

Not much on my desk this week. The new SU catalogue arrived on Monday so I’ve managed to have a quick flick through that. We also received a wedding invitation from one of our nephews. They had to cancel last year, obviously.

I’ve not done much crafting recently. I’ve been decorating the dining room. Unfortunately, I overdid it and did my back in (again) so what should have taken 3 days has taken 8 days! The walls were a beige/taupe colour with a black chimney breast. I had to put 2 coats of white to cover this up. They are now Tranquil Dawn (as close as I could find to Eau de Nil) with Fresh Sage on the chimney breast.

I still need to replace the mirror and the pictures. I will do them bit by bit. I’ve also re-arranged the furniture. This is the guest dining/sitting room and it’s so much brighter now without the imposing black chimney breast. Only 2 more rooms need decorating and I’m getting someone in for that.

Not much else has happened since my last blog, although I have started using a feature in Outlook that I’ve known about for 30 years! I remember watching an episode of Morse back in the late 80’s/early 90’s where a plot device was that an email had been scheduled to be sent after someone had died. I’ve never used this feature until recently and I really don’t know why I’ve not used it before! It’s come in very handy having to email everyone in the church some daily Lent/Easter Devotions. I’ve done the emails, added the attachments, and set each one to go out on the alloted day at half past midnight. Bob’s your uncle! If you would like to know how to do this, it’s simple: write your email, add any attachments, put the recipients’ name(s) in, then choose Options. Then click on the 3 little dots (More Commands). Click on Delay Delivery and, under Delivery Options, choose Do Not Deliver Before (box may already be ticked) and you can choose the date and time for it to go. Click Close and then Send your email. It will sit in your outbox until the specified time. You will need to leave your pc on with Outlook open. Here endeth the lesson. Hwyl fawr!

  1. Love the colour combo on your walls and the cards on the front of the new catalog are just stunning. It’s been AGES since I looked at SU stuff as I am not making many cards lately. I, too, have a wedding invite I can’t attend – my niece, back in the USA. Makes me very sad but safety first. We did the bridal shower via Zoom so maybe they will stream the wedding!
    Happy WOYWW

  2. Well, that’s a great lesson! My dentist does this. And sometimes, they get the date wrong and it causes mayhem!!!
I love the new paint colours, so fresh and bright. Your poor back, I think getting someone in to do the rest is a brilliant idea!

  3. Oh yes more use of technology to aid easy living, love it. I scheduled my WOYWW post as I can then sleep knowing it is all done! and all I need do is link up in the morning. I have done a cut and paste of my email address today so I can easily fill in the blogs that require this, yay. So glad you have lost the black chimney breast the soothing fresh sage is OH so much better. BJ#13

  4. I don’t blame you for getting someone in to do the last couple of rooms, we’re doing the same now that we are down to the very tall hallway, stairs and landing. I really hope your back gets better soon and you can get back to crafting although looking at catalogues is rather lovely too. Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #3
