WOYWW 580

I meant to thank you all for the lovely comments on my ‘art gallery’ hall the other week, but forgot. I’ve never thought of it as an art gallery – I feel quite posh now!

I haven’t done anything with the slate yet. I’ve got an engraving tool, but I’ve obviously put it somewhere ‘safe’ as I can’t find it! I’ve been looking on Pinterest for ideas and might have to invest in some etching cream and some pretty napkins.

I’ve managed to sell a few retired Stampin’ Up! sets this week on Ebay. A couple of them went for quite a lot, which was nice. I’ve also finished the wedding card for one of the church regulars. Getting all the electronic signatures was even more difficult than it usually is when I’ve got a physical card for signing! It seemed simple to me: write what you’d write if it was in a card, take a photo of it and email it to me. But, no, some folk just couldn’t do it. I had to arrange to meet some of them at the church building and get them to write on a piece of paper that I then took home, photographed, and put into a Publisher document. I had great fun editing them all, rotating them, squeezing them into small gaps. I’ve just had an awful thought – did I photograph the front of the card before posting it?

Phew! Yes, I did remember! I have, however, forgotten to put their names and the date on it….! Oh, well, too late now!

I popped into town yesterday to buy some more iron-on interfacing from our local fabric shop. People are starting to emerge. In fact, it was almost like a normal July day except that nearly everyone’s wearing a mask. I had to gently discourage someone that was trying to feed a seagull (will they never learn?). You can get fined in Conwy County for feeding the gulls. People don’t realise what a nuisance they are. I’ve seen them take the food out of someone’s hand when it was almost in their mouth. When we had family visiting one year we bought fresh doughnuts on the pier. Kevin turned around to say, “Now be careful the seagulls don’t get them.” only to have his doughnut pinched by one!.”Like that!”, he said.

The weather’s a bit murky here this morning; I can barely see the Great Orme, and I’ve had to put a jumper on! Hwyl fawr am y tro!

  1. The card is lovely and well done you for being so kind as to get all the signatures like that, I’m sure the wedding couple will appreciate your efforts. People are emerging here too though G and I don’t feel any great urge to go and sit in pubs!

  2. Lovely card! Well done, all the work getting everybody to sign it! Thank you for visiting, and you are right about kitties and boxes! They are the most irresistible things in a kitty’s life, followed closely by a door that always has to be opened for them – they don’t really want to go out, they just want to see what’s on the other side! So glad you like my cross stitch. It’s so relaxing to do and you get into a sort of rhythm with it. I hope by next week I’ll have made some progress on the tiny carpets to show you!

    Happy WOYWW,

  3. Yes you would think that it would be easier doing everything with technology but hey ho my family have only just managed to get everyone on our weekly quiz night. There’s usually someone who we can’t see. But good on you for getting it done. Oh and ‘safe places’ – yeah, I’ve got a few of those…..if oly I could remember where….Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, Cindy #11

  4. Hi Camilla, you are not alone in having ‘safe spaces’. So safe, even I can’t find them again. Still searching for the little booklet that came with my MINC, and I never throw that sort of thing away! Smiled at your delight in the ‘gallery’. It’s the same when I see people describe their ‘studio’, I just call it my Craft Room, ‘studio’ seems far too posh. Stay Safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #7 X

  5. I love the card and well done for organising all the comments. I also put things away safely never to find them again! Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#1)

  6. I understand what you’re saying about the gulls they are even a pain in the park and take all the bread that people try to give the ducks. They will take small ducklings too. Gorgeous wedding card, bet they’ll love it. Have a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x14x

  7. What a lovely card Camilla. I love clean and simple. Seagulls are indeed a pain. I don’t understand why people feed them (or pigeons). Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #5
